Oil-based products for someone with oily skin? Really?

You might be saying, "I've been told my whole life that I need oil-free makeup!  What is the point of putting oil on top of an already oily face...?"

I get it, so let's talk about it.

It's obvious by the excessive oil production the body needs some balancing.  But remember, this oil you're producing isn't as bad as you might think.  The body is producing oil to protect itself.

Oil doesn't cause acne, black-heads, pimples, zits, white-heads and all the other stuff that grows where you don't want it!  These irritations come partly as a result of hormones, bacteria, dead skin cells and the build up of them, not because your skin produces extra oil.

Excessive oil production is a symptom, not a disease and understanding the difference is imperative as it will lead you either to work with your body or against it.  Let me explain what I mean.

Soap or detergent-based cleansing products, the majority on the market, will strip the face of its naturally occurring oil leaving it dry - you know that tight feeling you get after washing with regular cleansers?  I used to think it meant my skin was squeaky clean!  But I discovered it actually means my skin is terribly dry!  And if it's dry this will signal my body to start producing MORE oil in order to combat the dryness that has been inflicted on it yet again...night after night....it's a never ending battle.  So if drying out the skin isn't the answer, what is?

Oil cleansing.  Plant based oils rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, minerals, amino acids and much more is the answer.  These amazing botanical oils are full of properties that actually nourish the skin, yes, even oily skin, to help bring balance back.  And the answer to your oily skin is balance!

The great thing is that oil combats oil!  Natural oils will combat the oil you're producing and bring balance back and if the right kinds of oils are used they will not clog your pores.

But never use mineral oil - read labels!  Petroleum based product should be avoided at all costs as they will without a doubt clog your pores and bring about seriously unwanted results!

It's a blessing for me to hear the success stories from women all over the world.  Natural botanical oils really do balance the skin!  They have for thousands of years and still work today!
